Uniguest has completed a large-scale deployment of its Healthcare Hub platform at Stavanger University Hospital, delivering a unified system for patient TV, digital signage and room displays.
The new 650-bed hospital has been designed as a digitally integrated environment, with a focus on improving communication across patient, staff and shared spaces. Rather than deploying separate systems, the project centred on implementing a single platform capable of supporting multiple functions across the estate.
The installation was delivered following a public tender process, with flexibility, scalability and integration capabilities identified as key requirements. The Healthcare Hub platform uses an API-driven architecture, enabling it to connect with wider hospital systems and support future expansion.

Torbjørn Andersen, technician at Helse Vest IKT, said: “We needed a platform we could trust across a large hospital environment. Stability was non-negotiable – and we also wanted the flexibility to support different display environments and connect to other systems through APIs.”

In patient rooms, the system provides a combination of information and entertainment services, designed to improve the overall patient experience. Across staff areas, digital signage is used to support internal communication, while meeting rooms feature displays integrated with Microsoft Office 365 for room booking and availability.

The move to a single platform also simplifies management for IT teams, reducing system complexity while enabling centralised control across the hospital.
Andersen added: “The biggest day-to-day benefit is how easy it is to inform both patients and staff. It helps us communicate across different areas of the hospital in a very simple way.”
