Screen Media Expo revealed that more than 2,000 visitors have pre-registered for the show to be held May 5 and 6 at Earls Court in London. Organiser Screen Events hopes to attract 5,000 attendees and says it will provide a comprehensive education programme.
The two-day free learning programme has been devised in partnership with the Imperative Group and additional workshops on digital signage in banking and building next generation retail media networks have also been added to the show floor.
“We’re investing all our energies in to our 2010 education programme,” said Mark Pigou, director, Screen Events Ltd. “It has been intelligently devised with three presentation channels running over the two days.”
Highlights of the line-up include a presentation by Mike Hiatt, former VP of Walmart Stores and current principal of Dynamic Retailing LLC. Under the title The Dawn of Dynamic Retail he aims to explain how Walmart upgraded its signage network and discovered the power of customer relevance.
Furthermore, Alex Hughes, strategy director of Amigo Digital will explore the design and development of new technologies focussing on Christie MicroTiles.
Running on Day 2 alongside Screen Media Expo, Media Week’s DOOH Media Summit will adopt an international perspective on digital’s new frontier. Graham Thomas, former deputy chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi UK and Europe, will introduce the summit as chairman and case studies will be presented by Five, Virgin Trains and The North Face. Other presenting companies include Camelot, Digicom, OVAB Europe, JC Decaux Airport and Amscreen. Mediaweek.co.uk’s DOOH blogger will chair a panel session on DOOH opportunities and threats with panellists from Posterscope, Clear Channel, The Sunday Times, OAA and Glue.
The Digital Signage Strategies Forum, produced by Strategy Institute, will also be held alongside Screen Media Expo and will deliver eight case studies from UK, Switzerland, USA, Norway and Spain. Speakers included Adam Lloyd of Ericsson Ltd, Bastien Schupp of Infiniti Europe, Fiona Alexander of University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust and Kris Collins of University of Bedfordshire.
The Screen Forum will be launching its ‘Green Screen’ programme at a breakfast briefing held on Day 1 of Screen Media Expo. The event will feature speakers from leading companies in the sector that are championing advances across the digital signage sector to improve the industry’s green credentials.
Finally, Minicom will return to run the Digital Signage Showcase and Expert Tour following a successful collaboration at last year’s event. Minicom aims to provide an overview on how to plan, create, rollout and operate a full scale digital signage application.
Above the show floor in the conference centre at Screen Media Expo, Strategy Institute will be running the DSS Forum. Now extended to two full days, the forum is specifically designed for key decision makers in higher education, government, corporate communications, healthcare and transportation as well as AV professionals, contractors and integrators.
