The Gaelscoil Mhichíl Uí Choileáin school in Clonkilty, Ireland, will receive a classroom technology overhaul valued at €20,000.
The school was named as SchoolComputers.ie’s ‘Education Mega Draw CSR Programme’, a school which provides specialist
support for students with autism.
The school beat out 4,000 other schools in Ireland to win the
CSR Programme draw, run by PPDS’ partner, SchoolComputers.ie. As part of the donation, the school will
receive a 65-in education-focused Philips interactive classroom display.
In addition, the school will also receive 30 Chromebook
computers for all year five students, as well a 32 port charging car, an all-in-one printer for
the school’s ASD unit and a desktop scanner donated by other SchoolComputers.ie partners.
Pádraig Ó hEachthairn, Principal,
Gaelscoil Mhichíl Uí Choileáin school, commented: “This is unbelievable. To think that our school, out of
over 4,000 schools in Ireland, has won this prize, is truly amazing. Just like Clonakilty itself, our
school is growing year on year, and this requires us to have more tech resources for our pupils.”
