Philips MediaSuite TVs installed across The Chancery Hotel Dublin
PPDS has supplied Philips MediaSuite TVs for all 150 guestrooms at The Chancery Hotel in Dublin, supporting personalised in-room entertainment, guest communication and energy efficiency.

The four-star hotel, located close to Dublin Castle and Trinity College, has been developed with a focus on design, comfort and operational efficiency, with in-room technology forming part of the wider guest experience.

Working with VDA Telkonet, the hotel selected the Philips MediaSuite 55HFL5214U to provide guestroom entertainment while supporting its sustainability commitments. The hotel is already LEED Gold certified and wanted a TV system that combined quality, flexibility and energy efficiency.

The MediaSuite displays include built-in casting, allowing guests to stream content from their own devices directly to the TV without external dongles or additional hardware. The system also supports a customised interface tailored to The Chancery Hotel’s branding.

The TVs are integrated with VDA’s Micromaster room management system, enabling control of in-room functions including lighting, HVAC and blinds.

The displays are also being used to communicate hotel information, menus and marketing messages directly to guests, reducing the need for printed material in rooms. PPDS said regular software updates will allow the hotel to add functionality over time and extend the lifetime of the investment.

Barry Francis, commercial director at The Chancery Hotel, said: “The main features we were looking for at The Chancery Hotel were a cutting edge, best in the market, top shelf TV system, with superior quality and sustainability benefits built in.”

According to PPDS, Philips MediaSuite TVs are increasingly being adopted by premium hotels looking to combine entertainment, room control and lower energy use within a single guestroom platform. Kendra Ingram, UK business manager at PPDS, said the displays are “roughly 30-40% more energy efficient” compared with the company’s nearest competitors.
