As Taiden distributor Media Vision bolsters its position in the UK with a London office, InAVate catches up with the company’s UK director of sales, Jason Williams.
The London facility follows Media Vision expansion outside North America that has seen the company open nine offices throughout Europe in the past four years.
Williams, who has more than 26 years’ of AV and consulting experience and used to head up Brähler’s UK sales effort, joins the company as director of sales for the UK and Ireland.
Jack de Keyser, senior director of sales in Europe, said: “Jason possesses remarkable experience; we are confident that he will be an invaluable asset to finding the right solutions for our end-user needs.”
Williams’s first task will be to set up a network of Media Vision partners and is actively looking to engage with integrators and consultants throughout the UK and Ireland. “Over the next two months I’ll be travelling around the UK, qualifying partners [integrators and consultants] in specific regions,” he said. “Once those partners have been qualified we’ll offer product training and support. I will make sure we are feeding them with leads and opportunities and that they have the tools and resources they need to fly the Media Vision flag and promote the Taiden brand.”
Williams believes that Taiden’s infrared offering (the 5300 digital infrared discussion system) will help the company carve a route in to various organisations.
He suggests an IR system could be attractive to a market suffering from congestion and said: “The UK market, particularly council chambers and executive boardrooms, has followed a trend recently towards wireless microphones. Wireless microphones usually work on ISM bands, generally 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands. Manufacturers are increasingly moving into the 5GHz band because it’s quieter but all those frequencies are starting to get congested.”
Media Vision’s plans in the UK are expected to continue with a showroom, demo suites and a warehouse facility to extend the company’s rental business in the region.
