Magnum upgrades technical infrastructure at Les Salles du Carrousel
Magnum, a Groupe Novelty company, has delivered a major technical upgrade at Les Salles du Carrousel, the Paris event venue located beneath the Louvre and operated by Viparis.

The project covers the venue’s primary event spaces, including the Le Nôtre Suite, Soufflot Suite and Foyer, with further upgrades planned for the Delorme and Gabriel suites this summer. The renovation introduces new sound, lighting, rigging and AV network infrastructure designed to improve production efficiency, safety and sustainability.

Magnum, which is also the venue’s official technical operator, has created turnkey technical packages for event organisers using the space. These include integrated sound, lighting and video systems intended to reduce setup time and simplify production across conferences, exhibitions, product launches and gala events.

A major part of the upgrade focused on rigging. New curved trusses from Alu Soudure Diffusion were installed alongside 120 GIS LP500 D8+ electric chain hoists, with Sonos Altimate control and load monitoring systems providing real-time supervision of suspended equipment.

The electrical network has also been rebuilt using StageSmarts power distribution units, while lighting has been modernised with Robe Esprite and LEDBeam 200 fixtures.

Audio reinforcement across the suites is handled by a d&b audiotechnik Compact Cardioid Line Array system, comprising 18 clusters of three CCL12 loudspeakers supported by 10 CCL-SUB subwoofers. The system was designed to provide consistent coverage while limiting spill into adjacent areas.

A new AV network based on a spine-leaf architecture uses Netgear and Luminex switches and supports AVB, AES67, ST2110/IPMX and Dante. The network enables interconnection between spaces, while the paging system has been redesigned around a Yamaha MRX7-D matrix and PGM1 microphones.

Sustainability was a central consideration in the upgrade. The project used d&b’s Certified Pre-Owned programme, which provides refurbished equipment, while Groupe Novelty’s wider environmental strategy is supported by ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management.

According to Magnum, the refreshed infrastructure gives Les Salles du Carrousel a more flexible and future-ready technical foundation, supporting faster event setup, improved reliability and greater creative options in one of Paris’ most high-profile event venues.
