Lightware has hosted a Girls’ Day event at its headquarters in Budapest, giving students an introduction to engineering and technology careers through workshops, presentations and practical demonstrations.
The initiative forms part of Lightware’s ESG roadmap, which includes community engagement and support for greater diversity in the technology sector. The company said the event was designed to help young women explore STEM-related career paths and better understand the range of roles available in engineering.
During the day, participants joined interactive sessions, toured Lightware’s manufacturing and logistics areas, and heard from female engineers about working in technology. The programme was intended to make technical careers more visible and accessible before students make decisions about future studies and employment.

The event also included a workshop focused on social issues affecting women, with participants working together to identify challenges and develop possible solutions. Lightware said the session was designed to connect STEM skills with real-world problem-solving and social impact.
Gergely Vida, CEO at Lightware, said: “Girls’ Day is a practical way for us to open the door to engineering, showing students that technology is built by people, teams, and curiosity, not stereotypes.”

Lightware previously took part in Girls’ Day last year and returned to the programme following positive feedback from participants. The company said the initiative supports wider efforts in Hungary to encourage more young women to consider STEM careers through workplace visits and direct industry engagement.
