Leyard company Planar Systems has finalised a merger agreement with NaturalPoint, an optical tracking and motion capture developer.
Planar hopes the acquisition - that was first announced on November 8, 2016 – will help it target the augmented and virtual reality markets as well as CAVEs, drone tracking, movement sciences, sports performance, computer visualisation and animation.
NaturalPoint, which makes OptiTrack, TrackIR and SmartNav branded products, will remain a separate business.
