L-Acoustics empowers Ukraine’s VYRII Festival
The inaugural VYRII Festival, billed as “Ukraine’s Burning Man”, relied on an L-Acoustics sound system to deliver an ethnofuturism feel for audiences of all ages.

Held in August 2025, Franz Audio, a Ukrainian technical production company, was brought on board, a partner of the VYRII team for more than five years.

Franz Audio was tasked with delivering even sound coverage across the entire site, allowing attendees to have a comfortable experience whether they were listing to the low-end of electronic acts or the acoustic detail of traditional Ukrainian performers.

The festival featured two stages that operated simultaneously, meaning that Franz Audio needed to avoid interference, and to allow audience members to move from one stage to the other without any sound bleeding over.

Franz Audio was dependent on the availability of equipment due to the destruction of Ukrainian audio inventory by Russian attacks or moved abroad for protection. Working with availability, Franz Audio specified L-Acoustics’ K3 and Kara for the electronic stage design and deployment, while also using a legacy V-DOSC system for the main stage.

The sound system was delivered faultlessly, using SOundvision to model each stage, predict coverage patterns, and optimise speaker placement before transferring to LA Network Manager for final tuning.

The electronic stage featured three hangs, with two clusters of six K3 over three Kara each, with an out-fill hang of four Kara.

Six Kiva provided frontfill, paired with SB18 and KS28 subwoofers, delivering the imaging and low-end that electronic music requires without compromising on the comfort of the listener.

The main stage saw two hangs of 11 V-DOSC hangs by LA8 amplified controllers.

Yurii Danyliuk, director, Franz Audio, commented: “Soundvision greatly simplified our process. It allowed us to simulate the system’s coverage accurately and ensure we were meeting our primary objective of guaranteeing consistent sound distribution.”

“Our familiarity with L-Acoustics products, our team’s extensive L-Acoustics training, and the preparatory work we were able to undertake in Soundvision ultimately made the transition to V-DOSC as smooth as it could possibly have been. V-DOSC is a legendary, time-tested solution that once again proved its ‘immortality’ under extraordinary circumstances. It was incredible to see it perform so well and integrate so seamlessly with K3 and Kara.”
