Hexogon Solution has set a new Guinness World Record for the greatest light output in a projected image produced for a single event. The feat was achieved with 160 Christie Roadster HD20K-J and S+22K-J 3DLP projectors deployed for a projection mapping performance at the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian sporting event at Singapore’s National Stadium.
The total brightness produced was over 3,200,000 lumens and it beats the previous record of of 1,169,000 lumens, set by Freightliner Trucks (USA) at Hoover Dam, in Boulder City, Nevada, USA, on May 4, 2015.
Hexogon Solution installed the Christie projectors on 20 towers situated around the National Stadium. A slew of colourful images and multimedia content was projected onto the stadium’s floor. All show content displayed by the projectors was driven by 18 coolux Pandoras Box media servers. Two dedicated control rooms were also set up above the seating area – one on each side of the stadium – to house the Pandoras Box media servers and other equipment that supplied the contents to all projectors.
Adrian Goh, managing director at Hexogon Solution, commented: “This is by far the biggest deployment of Christie projectors that we have undertaken for a single event. The entire installation process has taken us a month to complete, but we are very encouraged by the end results and are absolutely delighted that the time and efforts that we have put in has set a new Guinness World Record title.â€
