Genelec sound system empowers immersive audio shared lab
A Genelec sound system plays a central role at London’s University of Greenwhich as part of SHIFT, a shared hub for immersive future technologies.

This £1 million facility dedicated to advancing multichannel sound composition, immersive audio, and visual performance, where a Genelec system provides spatial precision for sound production.

Genelec smart active monitors create a 32.4 spherical array, comprised of 32 8331 three-way monitors and four 7350 subwoofers, calibrated using GLM software.

The system supports high-resolution ambisonics recordings and formats, such as Atmos, DTS:X and Auro 3D.

The SWIFT facility is supported by a digital immersive theatre, a 200-person capacity venue that features a fixed Genelec 28.2 audio system, comprised of 8030s, 8050s, 8350s, and 7382 subwoofers which can be expanded to a 40.2 configuration based on project needs.
