The Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) has entered a long-term partnership with Genelec, developing an audio production hub within the university campus.
The university, located in Finland, is set to expand into 2023 with plans for a podcast studio, digital audio design unit, immersive gaming centre, streaming audio and other additions.
Each space will be outfitted with a range of Genelec studio monitoring systems, bringing additional opportunities for students on various tech-related courses to explore immersive audio design, as well as create opportunities for event production capabilities for the university’s on-site professional esports organisation.
Richard Withers, Esports development manager, KAMK and COO, KAMK.GG, commented: "As a university and brand with a truly international focus, it is always an exciting opportunity for us to be able to collaborate with local Finnish organisations who share a similar mindset of global development. Genelec is a world-renowned leader in the audio market, and we are thrilled to assist with bringing their technology to the gaming space."
