GiveVision worked with Accessible Events and Forwards Festival to bring visually-impaired music fans a world-class festival experience through a low vision aid headset.
The headset, first demonstrated at Wimbledon and Crystal Palace Football Club is designed to be adaptable to each individual’s needs, using the festival’s on-stage cameras to stream footage in real time to the user’s headset.
Forwards Festival worked with GiveVision to offer the technology for the first time, with headsets in place in front of the main stage to deliver an audio experience that accompanies the headset’s visuals.
Performances at Forwards were streamed in real-time to a set of headsets, enhancing the viewer’s vision to access the action.
Tom Paine, co-founder of the festival’s creator, Team Love, commented: “Striving for accessibility excellence is top of the agenda for everyone at FORWARDS and we’re pleased to be hosting this world first for a music festival. GiveVision’s technology is truly exceptional and groundbreaking and we’re exciting to see where the partnership goes in future.”
