‘Flexibility was everything,’ WyreStorm supports multi-zone AV at The Bergs
WyreStorm’s NetworkHD AV-over-IP platform has been installed at The Bergs in Australia, a renovated hospitality venue formerly known as Bondi Icebergs, to support flexible video distribution across multiple zones.

The project was delivered by Showtime Production Services as part of a major multi-stage renovation, transforming the venue into a space capable of supporting casual dining, sports viewing, private functions and live entertainment, often at the same time.

The venue required an AV system that could route different content to different areas depending on the event, while remaining simple enough for staff to operate during day-to-day service. Reliability and fast turnaround were also key considerations in a busy hospitality environment.

The installation uses WyreStorm NetworkHD as the core video distribution platform, with nine 4K encoders for TV and HDMI inputs, two 4K receivers and two 4K multiview receivers. This allows content to be displayed either as single sources or multi-window layouts across the venue’s LCD and custom LED displays.

The AV-over-IP system is supported by Netgear AV Line PoE switching, providing a scalable network backbone that can be expanded as the venue’s requirements evolve.

Tablet-based control gives staff a straightforward way to manage sources and zones without needing technical knowledge, while the modular architecture allows additional displays, sources or areas to be added without major infrastructure changes.

Scott Masters of Showtime Production Services said: “For a venue like The Bergs, flexibility was everything, and WyreStorm delivered that from the start. It gave us an AV-over-IP platform that was easy to deploy, simple for staff to control, and adaptable enough to handle the venue’s changing day-to-day requirements.”
