UK flexible display specialist FlexEnable is set to ramp up production at the end of next year after signing a deal with Chinese display maker Truly Semiconductors.
The technology transfer and license agreement covers mass production of FlexEnable’s flexible organic liquid crystal display (OLCD) technology.
FlexEnable is set to target markets including consumer electronics, smart home appliances, automotive and digital signage with its flexible low temperature organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) backplane technology.
In a release on FlexEnable’s website, Truly is described as the first display manufacturer to adopt OLCD. The company will implement the process into its existing production lines in Shanwei, China.
