Extron XTP system powers immersive event space in Morocco
The live event space built in partnership between Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco and Office Chérifien des Phosphates, using an Extron system to power the space.

The centre’s AV system can fill the walls and ceiling with images, colour, sound and light, creating an immersive environment with content from 66 sources (media servers, players, PTZ cameras and  live production centre) displayed on a 313-degree videowall surround and video projections on the ceiling.

Integrator Cegelec Maroc ws brought on board, installing a multimode fibre optic cable infrastructure, Extron XTP system and Quantum Ultra videowall processor.

The AV system supporting the event space is comprised of two Extron XTP II CrossPoint modular matrix switchers working in tandem with a Quantum Ultra videowall processor. 16 Modulo Kinetic servers calculate data and render video in real time to create a 130-million pixel image to 43 HD video streams.

The image server outputs signals to one of the matrix switchers over HDMI, with the XTP II matrix switcher distributing the predefined synchronised content and other selected source signals from the control room racks over fibre optic cables to XTP scaling receivers mounted with the displays.

The system also enables synchronised lighting control and 54 audio zones, with an Extron 15-in TouchLink Pro touchpanel working with an IP Link Pro control processor to provide control for all AV system functions.
