Extron ships compact USB-C matrix switcher for collaboration spaces
Extron has begun shipping the DTP3 CrossPoint 42 USB, a compact 4x2 matrix switcher designed to combine AV switching, USB extension and collaboration features within a single platform.

The switcher supports USB-C and HDMI inputs alongside HDMI and DTP3 outputs, enabling extension of video, audio, USB data and control signals up to 100m over shielded CAT 6A cable.

Designed for meeting rooms and UC environments, the DTP3 CrossPoint 42 USB integrates USB host switching with a four-port USB hub, supporting up to three 10Gbps USB hosts. The hub includes two USB 10Gbps connections and two USB 2 High-Speed ports, allowing connected peripherals to be shared between systems.

The platform also supports remote USB connectivity through an Extron DTP3 receiver, enabling room-installed devices such as cameras, microphones, keyboards and mice to be accessed by any connected host system.

Casey Hall, chief marketing officer at Extron, said the growing demand for integrated USB and AV switching in collaboration spaces drove development of the product.

Additional features include 100W USB-C charging, 4K scaling, audio de-embedding, seamless transition effects and logo keying. Extron positions the switcher as a compact solution for professional presentation and conferencing environments requiring both high-speed data handling and AV distribution.

The DTP3 CrossPoint 42 USB is available now.
