A total of 64 Digital Projection Titan 37000 WUXGA laser projectors sat front and centre of a 3D projection mapping show at the Administrative Capital Stadium in Egypt, the largest sports arena in Egypt.
With capacity for 93,940 spectators, the HiLights Group installed an edge-to-edge 3D projection technique, integrated with the stadium’s floor and walls, into a cohesive display.
The project aimed to create an experience that uses projection mapping to cover a massive area, delivering a custom solution that incorporates 64 Digital Projection laser projectors.
The HiLights Group’s team utilised a 90 degree projection technique on a canvas of more than 12,000 sq. metres, using 64 Digital Projection Titan 37000 WUXGA laser projectors which were carefully aligned to ensure depth and layering.
Custom 3D content and synchronisation animations were integrated, creating visuals that appear to ‘leap’ off of the stadium’s surface.
Titan projectors were chosen for both accuracy and reliability, with the large canvas requiring a durable and precise projector that could deliver visuals across the stadium’s expansive area.
Ten Dataon Watchpax60 media servers were combined with Olympic pixel manager, featuring 20,000 pixels and lighting fixtures from Vari-Lite and Robert Juliat.
The technical team strategically positioned the stacked Titan laser projectors in different corners of the stadium, maximising coverage and maintaining optimal throw distances to achieve a consistent 10mm pixel resolution throughout, with a brightness of 300 lex per square metre.
