Barco is making bold moves into the digital signage marketplace following its acquisition of dZine. The Belgium based digital signage solutions company will add content creation and management software tools to Barco’s digital visualisation portfolio.
“Barco and dZine have a common philosophy of bringing innovative, customer-centric digital signage solutions to the high and mid-range markets via partnerships with leading distributors and resellers,” said Paul Matthijs, vice president of Barco’s Video and Lighting Solutions division. “By joining forces, both our companies will be able to open up new sales opportunities, which will strengthen our position in the digital signage market for years to come.”
Filip Pintelon, senior vice president of Barco and president of Business Group Media, Entertainment and Simulation said that the two companies would be able to provide a “one stop” solution for digital signage projects.
DZine was founded in 1992 and recently won the 'Best Digital Signage' Award from trade association, POPAI.
As of today, dZine's core team, based in Kortrijk, Belgium, will function as Barco's centre of competence for digital signage technology.
Luc Deconinck, general manager of dZine, said he was “excited” by the opportunity and said working with Barco would allow the company to bolster sales, marketing and service capabilities.
