Barco buys X20 Media for 13.5m euro
Barco has bought digital signage software manufacturer X20 Media for a price reported by Reuters to be C$21 million (13.5m euro). Barco has said the deal is in line with its strategy to move beyond display and projection technology.


Barco added the acquisition "expands the portfolio with a complete solution to deliver enhanced and cross-divisional content distribution and workflow, based on advanced networking and connectivity capabilities."

X2O Media was established in 2006 as a spin-off from VertigoXmedia, a Montreal-based company in broadcast graphics automation. X2O’s platform enables the connection, management and delivery of real-time data through dynamic and interactive channels.

X2O Media will be integrated in to Barco as a seperate business venture, allowing it to benefit  from Barco’s worldwide sales and service presence.

X2O Media posted sales of C5 million (3.2m euro) in 2013.

Barco already owns the dZine digital signage software platform.
