Amnesia upgrades Terrace sound system with KV2 Audio
Iconic Ibiza nightclub Amnesia has completed a major upgrade of its Terrace space, installing a new KV2 Audio system designed and integrated by Plusmusic Ibiza in collaboration with acoustics consultant George Stavro.

The project follows the club’s 2022 Main Room refurbishment, also delivered with KV2 technology, and extends the brand’s presence across both of Amnesia’s key spaces. The Terrace, once an open-air venue but now enclosed under a windowed roof, required a system capable of delivering clarity, power and consistency across long sessions while retaining control in VIP and bar areas.

The new design features eight SL412 wide-dispersion loudspeakers for main coverage, supported by VHD8.10 mid-bass units and 16 VHD2.18J subwoofers. These are powered by ten VHD7000D amplifiers, a new model incorporating integrated protection features including RMS and peak limiters and tunable low-frequency notch filtering.

For DJ monitoring, Plusmusic introduced the new ESD312 loudspeakers, used as mobile nearfield monitors for low-latency, high-precision reference sound. The static booth is equipped with ESR212 monitors and dedicated ESR amplifiers, supplemented by VHD2.18J subs.

Peripheral areas were also addressed: the bar uses 12 ESD10 loudspeakers for lower-volume clarity, while VIP spaces are covered by a mix of EX15, EX12 and ESR215 speakers, supported by 12 ESD1.12 subwoofers.

Amnesia’s owner, Martin Vega, said the collaboration reflects a long-term commitment to refining the club’s sound. KV2 systems were first installed in 2018 and have since been upgraded annually with new technology. “At first, it wasn’t easy – many DJs were hesitant, and the simple solution would have been to go with one of the conventional brands. But I was driven by the same passion as George Krampera – KV2’s founder and one of the most influential transducer designers of modern audio. I wanted our audience to enjoy an audiophile-level experience unlike any other club.”

The new Terrace system debuted in May with a 14-hour opening party, maintaining clarity and impact throughout. East End Dubs, who holds a weekly residency with Eastenderz at Amnesia, described the upgrade as “warm, clean, and powerful enough to fill the room without losing clarity […] beautifully balanced.”
