A modular future for TV One says CEO

Fresh from a recent MBO, video conversion and AV signal distribution manufacturer tvONE is set to undergo a ‘renaissance’, its VP of sales and marketing, Andy Fliss, tells Paul Milligan.

In his 20 years in the AV industry, tvONE’s Andy Fliss has gained a variety of experience, working for both integrators and pro AV manufacturers of all sizes (from the likes of Samsung to more niche vendors).  This will no doubt come in handy over the next few years as the company emerges from a 'friendly' MBO from Nortek.

"As a small company one of the advantages we have now is that we can react to the market and make changes and adjustments fairly fast.  The whole (pro AV) environment is very different to the consumer world we were tied to, so it frees us up, and allows us to make decisions quicker." Fliss says the company is currently undergoing a renaissance, and its ?rst job is to 'develop a strategy that makes sense'.

The company has made its name producing video, audio and multimedia processing equipment, based on its proprietary CORIO video conversion technology.  Fliss maintains the MBO won’t see it straying too far from these types of products over the next few years.  So what are the factors that influence technical developments at tvONE? Fliss says there are three; technical staff, field sales force and OEM customers.
