FIFA’s World Club Championship sees the cream of world football’s clubs battle it out for the crown of the best team in the world. The 2009 event took place in Abu Dhabi using two of the city’s stadiums.
To accommodate the media contingent that follows such events, the Zayed Sports City Stadium decided to upgrade its facilities and equipment, including the installation of six channels of Sennheiser’s new 2000 series of wireless microphone products.
The system installed by Trevor Cronin included AD-3700 wireless antennas, six EM-2050 receivers, six SKM-2000 handheld transmitters with 835 capsules and six EK-2000 beltpack transmitters paired with MKE-1 lapel mics.
Sennheiser’s UAE distributor Venuetech, and technical director Elie Khairallah commented: “The 2000 series is ideal for this kind of application. The integrated data ports mean that real time monitoring and manipulation can be achieved through Sennheiser’s ‘Wireless Systems Manager’ software from any location on the network.”
