Banking corporation overhauls auditorium audio

BoE is a financial services operator and a member of South Africa’s Nedbank Group. It has recently overhauled audio in an auditorium situated within its Cape Town premises in the V&A Waterfront.

The audio system was designed by South African distributors Wild and Marr and was installed by React Marketing led by project director, Selwyn Progrund.

BoE’s tiered auditorium has 294 seats and can be subdivided into two equal facilities with 147 seats in each. Each area boasts two JBL AM7212/95 speakers, driven by Crown XTI4000’s and two VRX918SP powered subwoofers. A furhter XTI 6000 Crown amplifier was supplied. The separate areas also have their own Epson projection capabilities and can operate independently of each other.

A larger Sony projector is employed when the room is used as one space. This fires onto a Definition screen measuring 6.5m x 4.5m.

Each podium has a Crown LM300AL gooseneck microphone and Shure SLX2/SM58-J3 handheld radio microphones and WL184 lapel microphones are also supplied. React Marketing also provided two SLX1-J3 Shure UHF transmitters and four ALX4E-J3 Shure UHF receivers as well as four UA860SWB Shure Omni ½ wave antennae. The system is managed by a BSS BLU100 processor and controlled by a Crestron.

Progrund says the BSS processor allowed them to remove one rack as it can control both venues. All brackets were bespoke and manufactured locally.
