Martin Kling, the former partner, and chief developer of Kling & Freitag has passed away at the age of 54. Kling withdrew from the company in 2008 due to personal and family reasons, and has been battling serious health problems for some time.
Martin Kling and Jürgen Freitag had been developing speakers since the 1980s, before they achieved worldwide recognition with the CA 106 compact speaker.
Many other speaker systems which followed were developed by Kling, such as the Access, CA and Line 212 series and the Sequenza 10.
"I’ve had precious moments with Martin. Sometimes we sat together late into the night and worked meticulously on new ideas for loudspeaker systems. 'Only the best is good enough' was always his motto which still applies to us today. Without Martin, the company and the Kling & Freitag brand would not exist in this form. For that, I am very grateful to him." said Jürgen Freitag.
