Christ College, an affiliated College of the Australian College of Theology, has updated its AV systems. The project was handled by integrator The P.A. People. The task included providing audio, visual and lighting solutions while maintaining the traditional feel of the building.
The audio system comprised JBL FOH CBT-series speakers, Crown amplifiers, BSS Blu series DSP, Soundcraft Expression 1 mixing console and Shure wireless microphones.
To handle the visual needs of Christ College a NEC PA-500UG projector and 180in motorized screen were deployed. Video signals are transported over HDBaseT infrastructure while vision switching is achieved via AMX DVX-3155SP presentation switcher. The complete audio, visual and lighting systems are controlled through AMX via two NXD series touch panels – one located stage and one found at the mix position. Training was provided to the client’s staff with the AMX control allowing user-friendly capability.
The P.A. People also installed a Sony PTZ camera, mounted to rear of chapel connected to an Epiphan lecture recorder, essentially providing networked-based video streaming – enabling remote access for students and other audiences.
Josh Jones, project manager for The P.A. People, said: “The College also has several LCD screens and we provided a digital signage solution using Spinetix HMP200 players and Elementi software. It is easily managed over their network from one computer.â€
A simple FOH setup was provided for lighting, with modest fixtures. A single lighting bar is positioned to light the stage and showcases the stage floor.
