DiSCO conference attracts full house
31 January 2011
The third Digital Signage Conference (DiSCO) is drawing to a close in Amsterdam, having attracted a record 120 attendees to its dual-track agenda.
Held in the Amsterdam RAI the day before ISE kicks off, the conference covered topics from content strategy to case studies and from augmented reality to the state of the market in Abu Dhabi.
Organised by INVIDIS consulting, with support from ISE and OVAB, and moderated by Senior Analyst Oliver Schwede, the business & strategy track of seminars attracted a full house all morning, before attendees chose between content focused presentations or a best practice agenda which covered a number of case studies.
Highlights of the morning session included a detailed overview from Intel's Jose Avalos (general manager of the company's embedded systems group). He laid out Intel's vision for standardised hardware platforms for digital signage in the future.
Also of particular interest were presentations from Ivan Franco (Ydreams), who outlined how augmented reality will have a part to play in the future, and Thomas Peterson (SoftKinetic) who took delegates into the realms of gesture and touch-less interactivity.
The day's proceedings were then summed up by DailyDOOH editor-in-chief Adrian Cotterill.
