Visitors to WideBand Solutions’ booth at InfoComm 2008 were introduced to Simphonix Si-40 Auto-Mixer, the latest addition to the company’s audio conferencing products. The audio conferencing specialist said the automatic mixer could expand its Si-400 system by up to 32 microphones, without the need for additional control units.

It also incorporates digital signal processing designed to lower noise and automatically balance levels. Designed to tell the difference between noise and speech, the mixer also auto-adjusts its settings to accommodate to changing acoustical environments.

Each Si-40 features four mic/line inputs and has two additional line level inputs. To expand and support additional microphones, one DSP control unit can link multiple Si-40’s together.

The Si-40 also offers noise cancellation and automatic gain control on a per channel basis and enables users to monitor performance by retrieving real time information on input and output signals. The system can be remotely managed and locally controlled in deployments where performance management is critical.
