SoundTube launches all-in-one outdoor bollard speaker for streamlined landscape installations

SoundTube has unveiled an outdoor bollard speaker delivering landscape audio from a compact enclosure.

The Rockustics Cherry Bomb Galaxy (CBG5) integrates a 5.25-inch double-chamber bandpass subwoofer, 4.5-inch midrange driver and 0.75-inch titanium dome tweeter into a single outdoor bollard.

The patented three-way system architecture aims to support outdoor environments where aesthetics, installation efficiency and audio performance must work together.

Unlike traditional landscape audio systems that require separate subwoofer placement, the CBG5 incorporates the subwoofer directly in the same enclosure as the midrange and high-frequency drivers - aiming to keep all frequencies originating from the same physical location.

Ken Hecht, vice president at SoundTube, said: “We’ve taken the next step in outdoor audio design, allowing integrators to deliver full-range, phase-coherent sound from a single installation point.”

The CBG5 delivers extended low-frequency performance down to 38 Hz, while maintaining midrange and detailed highs across the listening environment.

The design supports 70.7V, 100V or eight-ohm operation, allowing it to integrate into a wide range of commercial and residential distributed audio systems.

It’s constructed from rotomoulded LLDPE with a weatherised aluminium grille for durable use.
