Shure will open an office in Switzerland and take over direct distribution of its products in the country under the newly founded Shure Distribution Switzerland.
Marco Weissert, managing director of Shure Distribution GmbH, said: "We would like to thank our long-standing distribution partner, Dr. W.A. Günther AG, for all its hard work over the past 25 years. Dr. W.A. Günther AG is renowned in Switzerland for excellence in audio and video, and we’re delighted that the company will continue to assist our customers as a commercial partner."
Herbert Muff, director of Shure Switzerland, added: "The decision to assume distribution directly was made so that we can work with our customers on a more personal basis. By supplying Shure products and providing customer support directly, we can look after our clients in Switzerland and their projects more comprehensively, flexibly, and quickly. It will also be easier to identify trends or customer needs and incorporate this feedback faster into our product development cycle."
Shure Distribution GmbH now has branches in Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands with the Swiss branch opening on June 1, 2018. The Swiss team, headed by Muff, also includes pro-audio application engineer Elias Ruh and market development manager Felix Alpstäg.
The news comes after Shure Distribution and QSC announced they were parting ways in the UK and Germany, severing distribution deals that had been in place for 25 and 10 years respectively.
