Mitsubishi Electric expands European displays HQ
Mitsubishi's European Displays HQ has expanded to include specialists from its industrial automation division. As well as being the hub for all the company’s professional display operations in Europe, Mitsubishi’s office in Mijdrecht will now also provide an operating base for Mitsubishi Electric’s Factory Automation division in the Benelux region.

This move signals a closer working relationship between the two divisions, enabling Mitsubishi’s Displays division in Europe to benefit from the company’s expertise in major process control projects and technologies such as SCADA.

Factory Automation is a key part of Mitsubishi Electric’s Industrial Automation group, which generated sales of 778.3bn Yen (£4.5bn) in the first 9 months of the current financial year.

Mitsubishi Electric’s Peter van Dijk commented, “There are a lot of synergies between the different aspects of Mitsubishi Electric’s business. The establishment of a Factory Automation branch within our Displays division headquarters brings with it many exciting possibilities to further develop our command and control displays business in the industrial sector.”

Last year, Mitsubishi Electric’s Displays division announced its intention to focus investment on its Command and Control business activities, which saw the firm centralise its European operations on a central hub in the Netherlands. The expansion of that operation to include Factory Automation is part of a larger strategic plan to develop its Large Scale Integration (LSI) business across EMEA and beyond.
