Midwich showcase is safe bet at Ascot
A host of fresh products drew hundreds of people to the Technology Exposed event hosted by UK trade-only distributor Midwich.

Held at the famous Ascot Racecourse during yesterday and today, dealers, resellers and installers were able to network and see some new products, some of which were being demonstrated in the UK for the first time.

Among the new products on show was Samsung's 95" Edge Lit LED Display - said to be the world's largest screen of this type.

It is the fourth year that the event has been held and around 1,000 people attended in 2012.

“We’re aiming to attract the same number of people this year,” said Darren Lewitt, AV director at Midwich.
“There is a lot of exclusive stuff on show like NEC’s touch table, the new projectors from Panasonic, and large format display products which are doing very well thanks to the level of innovation going on in this area.
“The event seems to get better every time. Some of the stands this year are smaller but they are all looking very professional.”

Firms with stands at the event agreed that although it was a UK-only event it had great potential for networking and making fresh connections with customers.

Nicki Hayes, product manager at Samsung, said: “It’s really good for us to meet face to face with trade resellers. Every year we attend we find it to be a successful event.”

Damien Weissenburger, Sony’s head of display, said: “This is obviously not the size of ISE but it’s great to be able to bring all the resellers to one place. We brought a few products that haven’t been seen publicly in the UK before so that customers can see them, touch them and see them demonstrated.”

Tom Gibson, PR officer for Panasonic, said: “This is a great event. It is very intimate as it is held in the UK so it is good for networking and showing off solutions. I think Midwich do a superb job of bringing everyone together.”
