Lang expands training with AV over IP sessions
Lang AG, a German based distributor, has said its Lang Academy will outline expanded training that encompasses AV over IP topics when it exhibits at Prolight + Sound, April 10 to 13.

The academy develops and organises training for AV technicians and has added two AV over IP sessions to its summer education programme, held at its Lindlar, Germany training facility to meet increased demand for streaming technologies.

A Signal Management Fundamentals seminar teaches basic knowledge about interfaces, signal processing and various possibilities of image processing. The Video Streaming Essentials training completes this study with topics related to IT network technology, data compression and streaming.

Training will also cover media servers with AV Stumpfl Raw and Pandoras Box sessions to address the trend of a shift toward high-resolution, uncompressed content in both interactive and creative projects. Topics such as real-time compositing, tracking and show control will be central to the training. Media servers including AV Stumpfl Raw, Christie Pandoras Box and Lang HMS will be presented at the Lang Academy booth 4.0 C34.

The Lang Academy will also become an official AV Stumpfl Media & Control Solutions Training Centre in April 2018. Fabian Stumpfl, CEO of AV Stumpfl, said: “This year there will be a lot of interesting news regarding our media servers. This is why we are happy that the exchange of knowledge will succeed without any problems, thanks to the competence of the Lang Academy.”

Lang also celebrates its 40th anniversary this year after Paul Detlef Lang and his wife Gabriele founded the company in April 1978. At the time the company, called Audiovision Paul D. Lang was run from their living room and adjoining garage. Eleven years later the company’s first employees were hired after which the company relocated to Lindlar. In 2008, Paul Detlef’s son, Tobias Lang, took over as CEO. The company currently numbering 220 employees and last year the creation of Lang UK and a joint venture in Baranday (Lang-Baranday) have given the company direct presence in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
