Kiosk and signage shows emphasise 3D
The Kiosk Europe and Digital Signage Expos will take over the Messe Essen in Germany this week.

The co-located shows will present solutions covering the digital signage, self-service and interactivity sectors from June 15 to 17.

Highlighted solutions include 3D kiosks and digital signage solutions, holographic displays, mobile interactivity and augmented reality.

Universities and companies will come together in the Futures Parlour to present prototypes for future scenarios which encompass mobile interactivity, real-time augmented reality, gesture, 3D digital models and other live customer interaction scenarios.

To celebrate the fact that Essen and the surrounding Ruhr area are European Capital of Culture 2010, the events this year will showcase actual deployments and installations of interactive technologies for museums across Europe. Exhibits will range from 3D digital kiosks showing the work of the Estonian sculptor Amandus Adamson, wayfinding interactive museum kiosks and interactive holographic works of art to digital gesture-based book readers.

The Open Digital Signage Forum features includes speakers from JCDecaux, Futuramedia, Metro AG-Media Markt and Saturn, Harrods, Monopoly Media and IMTV. The speakers will cover a range of topics from best practises in retail, successes and challenges associated with digital signage networks, the future of mall signage and challenges associated with creating compelling digital signage content.
