Ingenuity thrives in UC&C market despite gloomy outlook
Integrators and distributors are increasingly looking to service offerings to make money from communication and collaboration solutions according to this year’s Wainhouse UC&C summit.

The event, held at the NH Barbizon Palace, Amsterdam saw vendors, integrators and end users from across the UC&C sector come together to discuss interoperability, new video standards and successful deployments.

Wainhouse presented figures that showed slowing uptake of enterprise video solutions with consultants predicting little change in 2013.

However, a number of end user case studies – including examples from RWE/Essent and Odfjell Drilling– demonstrated innovation and ingenuity in deploying successful UC&C strategies.

The overriding end-user sentiment centred on a lack of unified solutions with a number of enterprises explaining that they felt they were having to take on integration roles to deliver a coherent solution for employees that was made up of technologies from various vendors.
