InfoComm releases academy day details
InfoComm is hosting a two-part academy event on Friday 23d April. The event is set to provide technical insight and seminar-based education.

InfoComm will present the first seminar, and the speaker is Terry Friesenborg. It will be an introduction to the “Audio coverage uniformity performance" standard. He will explain all about ANSI/INFOCOMM 1M-2009, InfoComm’s first system performance standard to be approved by ANSI. This will include learning about the procedures for measuring spatial coverage and criteria when designing and commissioning of audio systems.

Infocomm International will also present “Predictable performance in projected display” led by Greg Jeffreys. Students will learn to analyse a display to ensure it will meet the customer’s satisfaction and expectations. Jeffreys will also look at how much light is needed when dealing with a high-contrast image.

Learn how to calibrate projectors and screens using appropriate meters and how to set, describe and measure a successful result. Learning objectives include complete comprehension of all aspects of front and rear projected image quality, and the ability to use light meters with confidence.

The final seminar will be centred on 3D stereoscopic imaging. This will be presented by RGB Communications. David Aleksanderson will speak in-depth about today’s stereoscopic 3D visualisation technologies and their audiovisual applications. His talk will include a session highlighting the history of 3D, and a comparison of active vs passive stereoscopic imaging. These will include technologies such as IR and DLP Link LCD shutter glasses, as well as ColourCode3D, polarisation, INFITEC wavelength multiplex imaging and several other emerging technologies.

There will also be an high level roundtable discussion. Any senior mangers or directors are welcome. Learn about industry-specific current events, attendees will receive association information and enjoy an excellent networking opportunity. While taking part in this roundtable, InfoComm will discuss its new global market definition and strategy guides.

The day will be priced at £40 + VAT for InfoComm members and £60 +VAT for non-members. The cost includes three seminars and lunch.
