Genelec has struck a deal with GP Acoustics, the company behind KEF and Celestion, that will see the manufacturers share certain technologies.
Both companies hope that by sharing their existing technologies they can advance loudspeaker technology development.
In the arrangement Genelec has shared its waveguides technology utilised in its reference products since 1980s. The technology helps to control the directivity and the overall power response of a loudspeaker. GP Acoustics has shared its technology features related to traditional coaxial driver design, which support compact coaxial solutions for mid and high frequency drive units.
