Sud Media System has installed a Nexo sound system at the Stade Gilbert Brutus stadium in Perpignan.
The stadium, home to French rugby league team the Catalans Dragons, underwent a two-phase expansion in 2006 and 2010 to bring capacity up to 13,000 with three all-seater stands.
Its latest audio upgrade saw the installation of a system designed by Nexo’s engineering support team using the company’s NS-1 system configuration software.
Six clusters of three Geo S12s and six Nexo P10 point source loudspeakers cover the stadium’s Bonzoms Stand. Six clusters of four Geo S12s cover the West Stand and a further seven P10s cover the smallest stand, with amplification and processing provided by Nexo’s networkable NXAMPMk2 powered controllers.
The notoriously windy conditions in Perpignan required the team at Sud Media System to manufacture and certify custom brackets to attach the new enclosure clusters to the existing structures.
