D-Tools and Portal.io have merged, bringing both companies’ software platforms together under one banner.
The merger will see integrators access a portfolio of products that serve residential and commercial integration, audio/video, and security professionals.
G Paul Hess will continue as chief executive officer, while Kirk Chisholm, founder and CEO, Portal.io joins as chief product officer, taking responsibility for product vision and strategy across the portfolio.
Josh Willits, chief operating officer, Portal.io, will serve as head of Portal.io, continuing to lead the Portal business unit.
The merger gives the combined company a broader, more representative view of how integrators work, identifying pain points and needs from software.
The two companies have worked as partners for more than a decade since Portal.io’s managed product catalogue was first integrated into D-Tools SI.
The combined company brings together three products; each designed around different ways integrators run their businesses. Instead of forcing customers into a single system, both parties will continue to support each platform while working with integrators to match the right software to their needs.
Portal.io will continue under the same name, supported by the team that brought it, while D-Tools Cloud and D-Tools System Integrator will also continue to operate as normal.

Existing customers will continue with their chosen product with the same support team, with no end-of-life plans any product currently on offer.
