Doremi Technologies has announced its support and participation in the European PrestoPRIME project for the preservation and archiving of Europe’s audiovisual history.
PrestoPRIME will research and develop practical solutions for the long-term preservation of digital media objects, programmes and collections, and find ways to increase access by integrating the media archives with European on-line digital libraries in a digital preservation framework. This will result in a range of tools and services delivered through a networked Competence Centre.
Doremi's contribution to this three-year project centres on its knowledge of image compression and encoding. As the main provider of Digital Cinema servers and a leader in Digital Cinema mastering systems, Doremi will help its partners in defining the future of digital archiving technology.
“It is truly an honour to be involved in such an important project,†said Patrick Zucchetta, VP of Doremi Europe. “Our expertise in mastering, storing and delivering digital content will be of tremendous value for the long term preservation of Europe's historical audiovisual assets.â€
