Christie and partner E/T/C helped Cosmo AV implement the majestic show for the city’s Major Events department during this summer’s Bordeaux Wine Festival.
The “Homage†sound & light show, conducted in partnership with Ateliers Lumiere for the sound part, will use seven Christie video projectors for three performances, of a scale and quality never before seen in France.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Bordeaux Wine Festival and the first anniversary of Bordeaux’s inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the city paid a magical tribute to the famous people who wrote the region’s wine history. Among various events, three performances of a huge show, designed by Cosmo AV in partnership with Ateliers Lumiere for the sound part and E/T/C for the video equipment, were given. At 10:30 pm, lights and images were projected for half an hour onto the 18th century stone facades of the Place de la Bourse. Turned into a 4000m2, 205m-wide screen, the Palais Gabriel took the audience on a journey through nature, land, wine-growing, art and excellence in the Bordeaux area.
“E/T/C is the undisputed world leader in large-scale video projection, and greatly increased its power when it started a shift toward digital technology three years ago,†said Dominique Denis, Rental staging Sales Manager for Christie France. “Christie will help them meet the technical challenges of such a project, in order to offer the audience the best images in the best possible conditions. Together, we wish to demonstrate that our technique is a fully-fledged art.â€
