Danish integrator and consultant firm Stouenborg has been chosen as the installation partner to deliver the electroacoustic sound system for the Avicii Arena in Stockholm.
The Swedish architectural landmark was formerly known as Globen and was the largest spherical building on the planet when it was built. Now, this iconic part of the Swedish capital’s skyline is set to undergo a major upgrade.
The building is being renovated by Stockholm Globe Arena Fastigheter AB (Stockholm City) and Stouenborg, the Inavation Award’s Company of the Year in 2024, will join the renovation team led by general contractor NCC.
Over the next 11 months, the Avicii Arena will be transformed with the acoustic upgrade, designed by Efterklang part of AFRY, set to enhance the architectural spatiality of the venue.

In close collaboration with NCC, Efterklang part of AFRY, and the Constellation team from Meyer Sound, Stouenborg will implement the complex and challenging installation, as well as tuning the many speakers and microphones it requires.
“Once completed, the Avicii Arena will be equipped with a unique world-class electroacoustic system, distinct from most of those found elsewhere in the world,” said Anders Jørgensen, project manager at Stouenborg.
