Absolute AV highlights display solutions in Singapore
Absolute AV held an event at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore to showcase a range of display solutions in conjunction with manufacturers and other integrators. Products from Panasonic, Tricolor and Extron were showcased.

The welcoming address was delivered by Harry Tan, director of Absolute AV. Tan Tiong Leng, assistant manager for professional systems division at Panasonic then took over to run the attendees through the list of products from the manufacturer that were pertinent for the Asia Pacific market.

The main focus of Leng’s talk was related to the range of Panasonic’s LCD LED displays the most noticeable of which was the LQ70. The 4K display is available in 98in and 84in models. Designed to be durable the displays can be used in landscape and portrait mode. They also boast a full range of connectivity forms in the form of HDMI 2.0, Display Port 1.2a, 3G-SDI and HDBaseT. The LQ70 is aimed at control rooms, broadcast, retail, visitor attraction and design and simulation environments.

Also on display was the Panasonic LFV70, which is a narrow bezel (3.5mm) LCD display for command and control rooms. Panasonic also highlighted their LFB70 interactive touch-panel, RZ670 1-chip DLP 6500 lumens projector and LED display solutions.

To compliment the display technology, Tricolor was present to talk about their hybrid matrix switchers, videowall controllers and edge blending processors. Both the Hades and Apollo videowall controllers were specifically mentioned as products for command and control room applications.

Putting the display products and their uses into further perspective Tan Thye Seng, CEO of V-One Multimedia, talked about the digital signage market today. He highlighted cloud control, adaptive bit rate streaming and integration of touch capabilities into digital signage solutions as the major trends he was witnessing.

The event was concluded with a presentation by Vivian Lim, business development manager for Hyper Communications. The integrator is a Panasonic master dealer for communication systems and provides security and surveillance solutions.

It was also announced at the event that till the end of 2014, purchase of Panasonic LFE model displays will include a complimentary Android player.
