Smart-E announces 4k-9000 prize winner
Gary Aitken of Sterling University has won Smart-E’s prize draw, winning a 4K-9000 HDBaseT tester.
Aitken wanted the 4K-9000 to help with the upcoming testing of existing HDBaseT products at Sterling University.
Sterling said: “We’re currently testing our existing cabling, so the tester will be ideal for checking our infrastructure’s HDBaseT specification.”
The prize draw attracted applications from all sides of the AV industry, including installers, distributors and end users.
HDBaseT is becoming a larger issue in the AV industry, with installation upgrades running into problems with outdated or damaged cabling.
The 4K-9000 tester is designed to test for faulty cabling within an AV installation, allowing an installer or technician to pinpoint any cables with issues for replacement or repair before installation or upgrade.
The 4k-9000 uses Smart-E’s pass/fail technology, informing the user of problems in an HDBaseT AV installation with one button.
In-depth analysis is also available via the tester’s internal LCD display.
