ISE 2017 will focus on architectural and urban development when it opens with an address from award winning architect Ole Scheeren on February 6 in the Forum of the Amsterdam RAI.
Scheeren - who worked with Rem Koolhaas at OMA as a director and partner before setting up his own practice, Buro Ole Scheeren – will deliver the opening address at 6pm.
His current projects include the Guardian Art Center, near the Forbidden City in Beijing; 1500 West Georgia in downtown Vancouver; and MahaNakhon, Bangkok’s tallest tower and his awards include the WAF 2015 World Building of the Year for The Interlace, Singapore; the CTBUH 2013 Best Tall Building award for CCTV and the 2014 inaugural Urban Habitat Award for The Interlace.
Scheeren’s talk, which will focus on technology and architectural design, will conclude a day of events including the Smart Building Conference, which this year has a focus on IoT, and will be followed by the show’s official opening reception.
Speakers at this year’s Smart Building Conference include Aglaia Kong and Kathy Farrington from Google; Bernhard Huessy from nomos system; Claus Lohse from a/c/t/ Beratungs & System; James McHale from Memoori; Matthew Marson from Accenture Connected Space and Paul Foulkes from Echohouse Energy.
February 6 will also see that start of CEDIA and InfoComm International training programmes. This year InfoComm is running a two and half day CTS Prep course. Led by Marcus Yarborough, the courses is designed to prepare AV professionals for the CTS exam, which can be taken on-site at the RAI during ISE.
