Barco signs strategic alliance with ISS to boost control room offering
Barco and Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a provider of IP video surveillance, video analytics, facial recognition, and license plate recognition, have announced a strategic alliance.
The alliance focuses on the software integration between the ISS SecurOS platform for video management and analysis, and Barco’s Control Room Management Suite (CMS).
With SecurOS, ISS offers security professionals around an open platform for video surveillance. Barco, for its part, develops flexible and mission-critical visualisation software and hardware including the CMS, a software suite for videowall management, inter-control room collaboration and decision-making based on the sharing of visual information.
While both systems have been in the market individually for the past six years, this software integration now becomes a native feature of SecurOS.
Barco-powered videowalls can now be controlled either with the Barco CMS Sidebar, through an ISS SecurOS client, or using a mix of both, based on the preferred workflow in customers’ control centres.
Through the SecurOS Barco control panel, control room operators can select pre-configured CMS perspectives – sets of visual sources providing situational awareness. Using the SecurOS user interface, operators can drag and drop any video source onto the active perspective on the Barco videowall, as well as switch between perspectives on the fly.
Sergio Martinez, Barco country director Mexico said: "Through ISS, Barco can tap into a vast experience and knowhow of local markets and applications, both in Mexico and in the whole of Latin America, and far beyond these borders."
