NEC says it has proved consistency and quality after it achieved full DCI compliance for its complete range of cinema projectors.
All of the company’s Series 2 digital cinema projectors have passed the testing procedure for certification according to the safety and technology standards of Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC (DCI). DMC/Keio University, a Japanese Research Institute for digital contents and media technologies, carried out all tests.
The DCI standard was created by the Digital Cinema Initiatives, a group of film studios, to ensure a consistent and high quality image for the cinema audience. The certificate is designed to guarantee the overall cinema industry compliance with current equipment and performance criteria for digital cinema equipment and products. DMC is one of three institutions worldwide that holds a licence to carry out the tests.
