NEC celebrates 2nd successful showcase
NEC has hailed its second solutions showcase, that brought together its customers and partners at the BBC studios in London, as a success.

NEC worked with its Solutions Partners to demonstrate solutions under five umbrellas; education, control rooms, digital signage, professional office environment and digital out of home.

Simon Jackson, vice president of NEC Display Solutions, said the focus this year was to demonstrate to customers how the solutions could be applied in the real world. Jackson deemed the event as a success and nearly 300 people attended the showcase. “We’re not just seeing integrators either,” he continued. “There are lots of end users here as the integrators are bringing their own customers.”

A highlight of the show was found in the control room zone where a massive 138” video wall with a U-Touch overlay was demonstrated. The video wall is claimed to be the largest touch display and was mounted on a Unicol bracket system. Apparently the solution had already sparked the interest of BBC technical staff who didn’t have far to go to explore the screen and its potential uses.

Response from NEC’s partners exhibiting at the showcase was positive. Many representatives, providing demonstrations throughout the BBC studio, reported that the visitors were relevant and predicted that the event would provide future business opportunities.

“It is a great forum to exchange ideas and to open your ideas to new opportunities,” said TeamMate’s Jeremy Stewart. “Today we have found an interesting new application for our touch table within high end automotive showrooms simply through discussions with another exhibiting partner who provide content software.”
