Midwich and Snelling Business Systems donate £30k in tech discounts at children’s hospice
Distributor Midwich and technology integrator Snelling Business Systems have contributed over £30,000 in technology discounts to The Nook, a new children’s hospice in Norfolk, UK.

The East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) launched a £10 million appeal in 2014, asking local businesses to support the upgrade of the children’s hospice care services in the area.

A charity, The Nook Local Business Network, was established to enable local businesses to sign up to a pledge over a three to year period, with more than 50 businesses signing up to help fund the new hospice.

Video conference facilities were installed, alongside flat screen TVs in each bedroom, with large-scale commercial and interactive screens being installed with integrated audio products for each meeting space in the hospice.

Stuart Mizon, commercial director, Midwich Group, said: “EACH is our longest standing charity partner so when they called up local businesses to lend their support towards the £10 million hospice appeal, we couldn’t say no!

“We firstly approached some of the world’s leading technology brands, such as, LG, NEC, Sennheiser, Chief, AMX, JBL and Barco, to lend their support - we managed to source over 60 audio-visual products for the hospice installation. We then worked with one of our integration partners, Snelling Business Systems, to ensure the products were seamlessly built and installed into the design of the Nook building. They also ensured EACH’s staff understood the technology through a series of product training sessions – it was a real team effort! “

The hospice was opened in November 2019, with the hospice helping to offer specialist care and support for the 480 children and young people that EACH supports ever year, providing family members with face-to-face support.
