LG has made its DualUp Monitor system available for puchase. Dual-monitor systems have become an everyday piece of office life, this system is notable because instead of placing two monitors side-by-side to create a widescreen field of viewing, DualUp places them on top of each other.
DualUp monitor only occupies the space for one monitor but this 16:18 aspect ratio monitor supports two 21.5-inch monitors (16:9 aspect ratio), in one screen. LG says it enhances work efficiency and productivity at the same time.
The 27.6-inch SDQHD (2560 x 2880, 16:18 aspect ratio) Nano IPS display supports 98% of DCI-P3 colour gamut.
LG says the 16:18 aspect ratio helps users check more information at a glace within the extended upper and lower space.
It may look odd but does make some sense, web pages and documents often flow vertically for example, and the viewing window is often curtailed at the top and bottom of the screens. Another intended use is for the top screen to run video meetings while the bottom screen could contain documents/emails etc in a way than does't mean the viewer is constantly having to move their head from side to side.
